In SEAK (standing for Southeast Alaska), I explore through layers of acrylic and oil paints my inner self in conversation with Southeast Alaska. I have never experienced a more beautiful, rich, wildlife-filled environment. Everything, from the biodiversity, to the rain-filled atmosphere, is material I explore in my paintings.
In LOWA (standing for Landscapes of Washington), I explore through layers of acrylic and oil paints my inner self in conversation with the landscapes of the state I call home. From the sandy yet rocky windswept coast, to the jagged, majestic mountain ranges, to the sprawling fields of farmland. Each of these have influenced in some way who I am and the work I create. Through this series, I wanted to express my love and gratitude for this beautiful state I call home.
